I graduated at the University of Texas at El Paso where I obtained my Bachelors in Graphic Design and a minor in Printmaking. My Fine Art works are intended to explore my own thoughts and emotions and how I perceive female empowerment, sexuality and sensibility. It is no doubt that my work also promotes LGBT awareness and support by portraying same sex lovers in each piece of my work. My series of work contains personal experiences, opinions and expressed emotions to which have only been my own. My goal is to obtain more experiences about others and provide a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves, to provide an outlet for those who have none and to express their own experiences thought my works of art.
I intend on continuing my educate and obtain my next goal; to tell otherʼs experiences through my art and work with them on how their lives have turned out to be. From the experiences I portray their life in a story telling setting by the same format my art has taken shape; embroidery art, printed on muslin and written quotes. Many obstacles I face is being too obvious in my work. I tend to stay on the more literal side, and thatʼs the part I want to improve on and become subtler. My other obstacle is portraying only one sexuality or gender, and Iʼm here to portray them all especially my own sexuality since most of these works of art are my own experiences.
My Design works are intended to spread awareness in subjects I care deeply about. Thats where my fine art and design world collides.
